"Starlight" was the second single from Black Holes & Revelations and was released on 4 September 2006 in the United Kingdom. The song peaked at number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. It was also the second single from the album released in the United States, and became the band's highest-peaking single on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, reaching number 2.
