Sailor Moon began as a manga created by Naoko Takeuchi in 1992 as a spin-off from her earlier work of 'Codename wa Sailor V.' It ran in Nakayoshi from 1992 to 1995. Read more


It was developed into the anime Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon in 1992. It spanned five arcs and the last episode aired in 1997. The Japanese version produced approximately 38 cds, 2 box sets, and countless character singles with Dali, Peach Hips, and Pretty Cast performing on most.

In 1995 DiC obtained the rights to Sailor Moon and an English version was created. DiC produced 3 English albums for the series before releasing the rights to Cloverway in 1999.

In 2003, Sailor Moon became a live-action (tokusatsu) series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. It produced 7 full length cds and 5 character singles.
